The Satellite Control Network Tracking Station Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract to support the U.S. Space Force has been awarded to Five Rivers Analytics, a subsidiary of Akima, a leading supplier of goods and services to the federal government, the company announced today. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a $480 million total contract value, assuming all options are exercised, and a 10-year performance period.
The major Satellite Control Network (SCN) of the Space Force will be operated and maintained by Akima under this contract, which will leverage its experience in providing mission-critical support services. SCN maintenance, transportable asset management, cybersecurity, regular system administration, and Communications Security (COMSEC) tasks are all included in operational support. A key component of the SCN is its 19 globally dispersed antennas. It is crucial for the launch and daily control of U.S. government satellites—a backbone for defence and intelligence operations.
