A collaboration on satellite image data analysis services has been agreed to by NEC Corporation and Ursa Space Systems. The two businesses will offer solutions for a range of enterprise applications by merging their services and technologies.
The usage of satellite image data has been growing quickly in the last few years for a wide range of purposes, such as environmental monitoring, resource exploitation, agriculture, infrastructure management, and catastrophe avoidance. In conjunction with this, NEC offers a monitoring service that supports infrastructure maintenance management and disaster countermeasures by analysing picture data from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites.
Furthermore, this, Ursa Space has worked with satellite operating businesses to create a “virtual constellation” of several hundred SAR and optical satellites, and it offers a global one-stop analysis service for image data acquired by multiple satellites.
The new SAR image monitoring and analysis system, which is initially intended for Japanese companies, is the result of a partnership between NEC and Ursa Space Systems. With intentions to go worldwide, this partnership combines Ursa Space’s sophisticated analytics with NEC’s SAR monitoring service. Improving SAR imagery applications for a global range of sectors is their aim.
