A contract worth more than $100 million, with options, was awarded to KBR, to supply special heavy lift movement services of front-line equipment for the British Army. This announcement signifies KBR’s continued support of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The British Army’s Challenger 2 tanks and other important loads will be able to be moved thanks to KBR’s fleet of Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET), maintainers, and operators, as per the terms of the contract.
On the foundation of KBR’s prosperous 20-year history of HET support, the Interim Capability Solution (ICS) will be implemented over the course of the following three years. This special contract includes training and the use of Sponsored Army Reservists to support delivery in addition to the provision, operation, and maintenance of the vehicles.
“KBR is proud to be part of this enduring project, one that allows the UK MOD unique flexibility in providing critical operational support to its troops and allies,” stated Paul Kahn, President of KBR Government Solutions International.
“Placing this contract secures a critical enabling capability for the Army, allowing continued logistic movement of heavy armour and other large equipment for current and future operations and exercises,” stated Mike Cooper, Senior Responsible Owner of the Materiel Distribution Land 2025 Programme for the British Army.
