A second order has been received by the sensor specialist HENSOLDT for the delivery of “Dynahawk” fire control sights (FLV). Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) is the Federal Office’s client. Delivery of the order will take place this year and next, with the opportunity to add further systems in 2026. The order has a multimillion euro value. In past years, HENSOLDT has already provided fire control sights.
According to Josef Reif, Sales Manager for the Sights division, “we are significantly increasing the first-hit probability on dynamic and distant targets of the deployed anti-tank weapons with the ‘Dynahawk.’ Thanks to the FLV in conjunction with the HENSOLDT IRV-MR night vision attachment, we can also guarantee operational capability at night.”
The “Dynahawk” features a laser rangefinder in addition to a 5.5x glass optical magnification. The fire control sight’s ballistics computer, which is fitted with environmental sense sensors (temperature, air pressure, and angular rate sensor), offers multiple modes for engaging both static and dynamic targets. It also automatically detects loaded ammunition and determines the appropriate ballistics.
In addition, the FLV offers programming choices for the firing point. This implies that munitions designed to explode or release air can likewise be employed with extreme precision.
The FLV’s distinguishing feature is its compatibility with the two weapon systems that the Bundeswehr has implemented: the “Wirkmittel 90” (DND RGW90) and the “leichte Wirkmittel 1800+” (MBDA Enforcer). The “Dynahawk”‘s configuration remains unchanged while firing either weapon.
