NASA has chosen eight businesses to receive a new grant in order to assist in gathering Earth observation data and offering associated services to the organization.
A firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple-award contract, the Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition Program On-Ramp1 Multiple Award has a maximum value of $476 million, cumulatively among all the selected contractors, and a performance period ending on November 15, 2028. As per the terms of the agreement, the grantees will be in charge of obtaining observation data from private sources to assist NASA with its Earth science research and application efforts, which aim to enhance the quality of life on Earth. The grants are intended to provide NASA and other U.S. government and foreign agencies with an affordable means of enhancing or complementing the Earth observations that they have already obtained for the common good.
