The Army’s Armoured Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) benefits from the dependable and advanced capabilities of the M109A7. With the M109A7, soldiers are guaranteed the most advanced artillery capabilities available, which are proven, highly survivable, and responsive in combat.
“Our goal is to develop and deploy cutting-edge artillery systems that outclass the Army in terms of lethality, accuracy, and range,” stated Dan Furber, head of ground vehicle manufacturing at BAE Systems’ Combat Mission Systems division. “The ABCT will be able to continue operating one of the most resilient indirect fire support systems for many years to come thanks to this contract.”
As part of its ongoing commitment to the M109A7 program, BAE Systems makes sure that soldiers have access to artillery solutions that are ready for every operation, even in the most difficult environments. As one of the lightest tracked SPH systems in the battlefield, the vehicle is engineered with adaptable chassis and next-generation technology.
The M109A7 was designed with the ABCT configuration in mind, making it a low-risk choice for future upgrades that will also ease logistics and save maintenance costs. Allies that now use American military systems gain from M109A7’s commonality as well since it maintains interoperability through its support, maneuver, and transportation features. 2020 saw the M109A7 reach full rate manufacturing. The contract value now stands at over $3 billion after this most recent order.
