An Agreement was signed by Anduril Industries and Rheinmetall, a technological business located in Düsseldorf, at Eurosatory, one of the world’s premier defence and security trade exhibitions, in Paris. As part of this partnership, Anduril and Rheinmetall will collaborate to design, develop, and manufacture new layered air defence systems called Counter small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS). The primary goal of this partnership is to start with European markets.
These C-sUAS systems will integrate hardware components from Anduril, such as Sentry Tower, Wisp sensors, and autonomous interceptor Anvil, with Lattice and open, modular, and scalable systems from Rheinmetall, such as Skymaster and high-power cannons. Through the integration of the distinct competencies of both enterprises, an unparalleled multi-layered C-sUAS solution will be provided. The MoU’s overall goal is to unite the complementary skills of these two leading companies.
“This cooperation will showcase the most innovative C-sUAS system – combining the strength of Rheinmetall military capabilities and the cutting edge development speed of Anduril,” stated Oliver Dürr, CEO of Rheinmetall Air Defence AG. I have complete faith that this combination will take care of our clients’ demands going forward and that we will launch the ideal product at the ideal moment.”
According to Greg Kausner, SVP of Global Defence at Anduril, “warfare is developing at the same rate as technology.” The dangers that the world’s defence forces must contend with are always changing and come from both new and old manned and unmanned systems. Layered defence systems need to be quickly, easily, and versatile in their approach. The collaboration between Anduril and Rheinmetall will provide an inventive, software-defined and hardware enabled C-sUAS system to our customers to ensure they stay one step ahead of the drone threat.”
