The largest provider of goods and services to the federal government, Akima announced today that the US Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific has given a joint venture between its subsidiary, Akima Support Operations, and the infrastructure consulting firm AECOM, a spot on the Global Contingency Services Multiple Award Contract (GCSMAC). If all options are exercised, the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a potential 8.5-year performance duration and a $2 billion total contract value.
The joint venture will compete under this contract to see who can respond fastest to natural disasters, humanitarian aid initiatives, or military engagements by providing short-term facility support services. There will be work done in a variety of places around the globe, including isolated areas.
“Akima acknowledges the crucial role played by the U.S. Navy in guaranteeing safety and security worldwide,” stated Scott Rauer, the president of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group. “This award shows how Akima and AECOM’s deep resources and expertise help to ensure our military operations are ready everywhere in the world.”
Akima has vast experience in offering the essential services needed to run and maintain equipment and facilities of various sizes, including guaranteeing the uptime of infrastructure systems and mission-critical assets. Global Contingency Construction, the NAVFAC Pacific and Atlantic Comprehensive Long-Term Environmental Action Navy (CLEAN), and several contracts for planning, architecture/engineering, and environmental services are just a few of the complex programs that AECOM has assisted the U.S. Navy with. The AECOM and Akima team is prepared to deploy dependable, knowledgeable teams to satisfy the Navy’s urgent disaster recovery and infrastructure requirements.
