The Bruneian Ministry of Defence and Airbus Helicopters have inked an agreement for the purchase of six H145M helicopters.
Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, stated, “We are deeply honoured by the selection of the H145M to support the Royal Brunei Air Force’s expanded missions. The H145M is highly regarded for its exceptional performance and adaptability, and we are optimistic that it will significantly improve Brunei’s operational readiness.”
Brunei’s H145Ms, which have replaced its outdated BO105 aircraft, will improve the air force’s operational capability for tasks like aerial surveillance and close air support. A military helicopter with multiple roles, the H145M can perform a wide range of missions. Over seven million flight hours have been completed by the H145 family’s global fleet to date. For the most difficult tasks, armed, aviation, and law enforcement personnel employ it all throughout the world. Following Thailand, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Luxembourg, and Cyprus, Brunei is the most recent country to order the H145M.
The H145M has two Safran Arriel 2E engines providing power, and it has full authority digital engine control (FADEC) installed. The helicopter also has the Helionix digital avionics suite, which includes a high-performance 4-axis autopilot and novel flight data management. These features significantly lessen the strain of the pilot during missions. Because of its extremely small sound footprint, the H145M is the quietest helicopter in its category.
