The Australian Army has extended the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) VBS3 enterprise software maintenance agreement with Bohemia Interactive Australia (BIA) for a twelfth consecutive year. By immersing students in a highly detailed virtual environment, serious gaming augments and expands real instruction, which is how the ADF utilizes VBS to be ready for operations. BAE Systems is the sole owner of BIA, a Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) company.
Ryan Stephenson, managing director of BIA, said, “Once again, we’re honoured that the ADF and the Australian Army have chosen to continue and strengthen this close and ongoing relationship.” “BIA has proudly supplied the ADF with the best commercial-off-the-shelf game-based simulation software for over a decade.”
The arrangement gives ADF organizations access to BIA support teams in Australia and other countries, as well as the ability to download and utilize the most recent version of VBS3. The extremely powerful Image Generator (IG) software from BISim will continue to be supported and maintained on all ADF Weapon Training Simulation Systems and Mobile Weapon Training Systems, according to a second contract.
President of BISim Rahul Thakkar stated, “The ADF agreement is part of a larger simulation ecosystem stemming from a strong partnership between allied nations.”
