Pascale Sourisse, Senior Executive Vice President, International Development, Christophe Salomon, Executive Vice President, Secure Communications and Information Systems; and Hervé Dammann, Executive Vice President, Land and Air Systems, all signed the three agreements on behalf of Thales.
The Joint Stock Company’s Ukrainian Defence Industry enterprise is covered by two agreements. In the first agreement, Thales said that it intends to establish a joint venture in Ukraine to help with the delivery and management of equipment for the Group’s defence system portfolio, which includes radars, air defence systems, electronic warfare, and tactical communications equipment. In the second arrangement, Thales will supply intensive maintenance, testing, and specialist training specifically for electronic warfare. The goal of this agreement is to increase Ukraine’s capacity for local maintenance, which will decrease repair and maintenance cycles and ensure the best operational availability.
In a third agreement, Thales and FRDM, a Ukrainian company that specializes in UAVs and UGVs, plan to jointly develop and produce an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system that can carry and discharge bombs.
“Thales is a long-standing partner to the Ukrainian forces, collaborating for more than 10 years, first in electronic warfare and then expanding to a broad range of programs,” stated Pascale Sourisse, Senior Executive Vice President, International Development. These agreements, in the short term, strengthen Thales’s support for guaranteeing Ukraine’s force preparedness. Going ahead, they also show our dedication to working with top Ukrainian suppliers and players to forge a longer-term presence in Ukraine and support the nation’s indigenous defence sector.
