The major Saudi Arabian service provider Luna Space Telecommunications, a part of Skyband Holding, has stated that it has transformed its VSAT network by acquiring 1,200 Hughes JUPITER Terminals and a JUPITER System Gateway from Hughes Network Systems, an EchoStar firm. By utilizing the most recent JUPITER technology, Skyband is able to offer new mobility services, cover even more unserved and underserved areas of the kingdom, and give consumers faster speeds and throughput.
According to Vaibhav Magow, vice president of Hughes’ International Division, “Skyband has been a valued customer of ours for over a decade, and we’re grateful they have turned to us again to upgrade their VSAT network to better serve their customers. The de facto global standard for satellite deployments is the Hughes JUPITER System. By upgrading to the latest JUPITER System technology, Skyband will be able to attract new customers and bring new capabilities to market.”
The business and government sectors in Saudi Arabia can boost productivity and work toward their digital transformation objectives by utilizing Skyband’s cutting-edge satellite network infrastructure, which is made available through a number of hubs. Skyband plans to grow into new areas including government, finance, and oil and gas by moving its current network to the more efficient Hughes network. Additionally, Skyband plans to introduce new capabilities including software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN).
According to Skyband’s Chief Business Officer Fouad Nasser, “We’ve always been able to count on Hughes to provide us with leading satellite broadband solutions.” “During that time, Hughes has been a true partner in assisting us in providing our customers with the connectivity they require in order to expand and meet their objectives related to digital transformation.”
