Ubotica is pleased to announce its participation in the MESEO project, an open, adaptable, and scalable multi-mission Earth observation (EO) system development project supported by Horizon Europe for large-scale data processing.
The goal of the cooperative MESEO project, which is part of the European Union’s Space Programme, is to provide innovative solutions that improve the use of Earth Observation (EO) data. With a focus on a range of applications, including disaster relief, sustainable development, and environmental monitoring, MESEO seeks to maximize the value of space-based data for the good of European society and beyond.
The integration of these elements into a cooperative digital ecosystem, enabled by an EO Coordinator Centre, is crucial to this endeavour. This centre will make use of heterogeneous and dispersed processing functions that can be accessed via standardized interfaces.
The right registered Processing Function will be assigned and activated by the EO Coordinator Centre, guaranteeing the best possible choice in terms of both timing and quality. It will be possible for members of the EO ecosystem to sell their goods and services as exported functions. Pilot applications for methane monitoring and crop categorization will be used to showcase the MESEO prototype and the performance improvements made possible by technological developments.
Ubotica is in charge of the creation and implementation of AI-driven picture triaging and in-line processing for on-board processing functions in this innovative system idea. Intelligent data triage is made possible by Space-AI’s onboard processing capabilities, which prioritize and send just the most pertinent Earth Observation data for quick analysis and action.
Dr. Aubrey Dunne, Co-Founder and CTO of Ubotica, stated, “We are thrilled to contribute to MESEO’s ambitious objectives and we look forward to the innovative advancements this partnership will bring to the space industry.” The integration of our AI-powered solutions will greatly improve overall efficiency and effectiveness and revolutionize the way data is processed on board; the MESEO system will gain a great deal from this.
