The Boeing Starliner spacecraft was successfully docked to the International Space Station (ISS) by NASA astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams. The launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station took roughly 26 hours. Before docking, Starliner steadily approached the orbiting laboratory through a sequence of manoeuvres carried out by itself, which the astronauts saw.
The crew tested several things during route to the International Space Station (ISS), including piloting Starliner by hand for the first spacecraft ever. The two Starliner astronauts will work on various tests and carry out scientific research while in space. They will be joining the other seven astronauts who currently reside on the station.
“Joining the fleet of private spacecraft that can provide NASA with crewed transportation services to and from the space station is an incredible and humble experience. Kay Sears, vice president and general manager of Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems for Boeing Defence, Space & Security, stated, “Our teams have done some amazing work to get us to this stage.”
