The cutting-edge UVision and Mistral’s Hero-120 loitering munition will be integrated with GM Defence’s light tactical utility vehicle. GM Defence is a division of General Motors. Mistral provides high-performance, dependable, and innovative solutions to U.S. defence and federal agencies. The firms are equipped to satisfy the tactical requirements of a modernized force by combining the military mobility experience of GM Defence with the loitering munition technology of Mistral and UVision.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 serves as the foundation for the GM Defence utility concept car. The utility vehicle offers a variety of seating arrangements to satisfy customer needs and has a high percentage of commercial off-the-shelf parts, including Chevrolet Performance upgrades to improve off-road performance. The utilitarian solution has a cargo bed built into the back of the vehicle, ideal for housing Mistral’s and UVision’s Hero-120 solution, or to support command and control, electronic warfare, counter-unmanned aircraft systems, reconnaissance and logistics.
The Hero-120 is made to engage warriors on the other side without putting Soldiers in the line of fire. Target versatility allows this loitering munition system to engage a wide range of targets, including enemy personnel, armored vehicles, field fortifications, and urban structures. Its capacity for precise strikes is especially engineered to optimize efficiency while reducing collateral damage.
“Light tactical wheeled vehicles that offer agility, speed, and lethality are becoming more and more necessary,” stated John “JD” Johnson, vice president of Business Development at GM Defence. “Our partnership with Mistral showcases our utility concept vehicle’s adaptability and capacity to improve warfighters’ tactical capabilities. After the successful completion of the initial demos, we will keep searching for chances to highlight the benefits that these integrated technologies provide to defence customers.”
“This integration sets a new standard in military technology, providing the U.S. Army and allied forces with an unparalleled combination of mobility, precision and adaptability,” stated Yoav Banai, vice president of Mistral. “Our collaboration with GM Defence reflects our combined commitment to advancing military capabilities and to evolving battlefield challenges.”
