Kraken Technology Group, a leader in maritime technology that specializes in disruptive high-performance platforms, and BlueHalo, a company revolutionizing the future of global defence, announced a strategic partnership to integrate BlueHalo’s cutting-edge autonomous mission systems, backed by artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), into Kraken’s littoral security platforms to develop next-generation unmanned surface vehicles (USV) and unmanned surface/sub-surface vehicles (USSV), along with multi-domain, “marsupial” capabilities.
The partners in this partnership will collaborate to incorporate BlueHalo’s leading autonomous innovations into various Kraken vessels, such as the K3 SCOUT USV, K4 MANTA USSV, and K5 KRAKEN Gunship. This will result in noteworthy advancements in maritime autonomy and the creation of new littoral capabilities that tackle crucial national security concerns. For transportable, maritime UAS detect and defeat capabilities, BlueHalo will additionally incorporate its SkyView and Titan Radio Frequency (RF)-based counter-uncrewed aircraft system (C-UAS) technologies as payload inside the K3, K4, and K5 portfolio.
“We have been preparing a number of projects as part of our long-term strategic goal, and our expansion into the maritime area is one of them. BlueHalo Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Money-maker stated, We can out innovate competitors and expand BlueHalo’s ring of protection by quickly and smoothly adapting current leading technologies to adjacent domains. We are thrilled to be introducing these disruptive offerings to the mission, and we are delighted that Kraken’s innovative spirit and passion for customer success align directly with our DNA.”
“Working so closely with BlueHalo on the K3 integration has shown a clear synergy in terms of expertise and vision.” Mal Crease, the founder and CEO of Kraken Technology Group, stated, “With this joint effort, Kraken and BlueHalo are working together to expand these innovations across our other vessels and pursue even more opportunities to meet critical customer needs.” “Our only goal is to deploy game-changing capabilities quickly, and this partnership will ensure that we can meet the rapidly expanding market demand.”
The Kraken USV and USSV’s autonomous platform, powered by BlueHalo AI/ML, will be the main hub for autonomous operations and functions. It will oversee mission-focused operations, maintain situational awareness, transmit commands to the autonomous maritime controller, permit multi-vessel swarming, and support hybrid maritime and land “marsupial” operations.
