HENSOLDT, a sensor specialist, is strengthening Ukraine’s air defence by sending six more of its high-performing TRML-4D radars there. The six radars are scheduled for delivery later in the year as part of an extensive order package valued at over 100 million euros. This indicates that HENSOLDT now has contracts for over 50 of these kinds of air defence radars from a variety of clients.
“Our radars are urgently needed by the Ukrainian air defence, and we are proud to be able to deliver all the systems this year,” stated Oliver Dörre, CEO of HENSOLDT. The comments we receive from our clients attest to the significance of the radars’ quick availability for their residents’ safety.
The newest Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar technology serves as the foundation for the TRML-4D. It guarantees the quick identification and monitoring of about 1,500 targets in a 250-kilometer radius. It can swiftly and accurately identify, track, and categorize any kind of aerial target, including helicopters, drones, and planes and cruise missiles.
HENSOLDT is actively promoting the continued development of important technology in this industry and has decades of expertise with radar systems for air defence. The company offers the SPEXER short-range radar, the Twinvis passive radar, and radars for securing ship and aircraft traffic in addition to the high-performance TRML-4D radar. The German Armed Forces’ NNbS air defence system for close-quarters and short-range protection, which was put into service in January, includes both the TRML-4D and the SPEXER. Additionally, HENSOLDT provides radars for airspace monitoring, approach control at Bundeswehr airfields, and the German Navy’s frigates and corvettes.
