Troels Lund Poulsen, the minister of defence for Denmark, is in Buenos Aires today to meet with Luis Alfonso Petri, the minister of defence for Argentina, and to sign a statement of intent regarding the potential sale of Danish F-16 fighter aircraft.
“My colleague from Argentina and I had a really productive encounter. She expressed her happiness at joining the global family of F-16 nations. The agreement was negotiated in cooperation with the United States,” according to Troels Lund Poulsen, the Danish Minister of Defence.
The American government, which has authorized the sale of aircraft made in the US, worked closely with the decision-makers to sell the Danish jets to Argentina.
“Danish Defence is now replacing its F-16 fleet with brand-new F-35 aircraft. The government of Denmark has chosen to sell 24 of its F-16 aircraft to Argentina, while the country is donating 19 of its aircraft to Ukraine.” Troels Lund Poulsen, the Danish Minister of Defence, states, “I am therefore very pleased that my Argentine colleague and I have signed a letter of intent on the possible sale today in Buenos Aires.”
