The industry leader in OT and IoT security, Nozomi Networks, today announced that AFWERX has chosen it for a $1.25 million SBIR Phase II contract. The contract will be used to leverage the Nozomi Networks platform, which includes Guardian and Guardian Air, to address the Department of the Air Force’s (DAF) most pressing challenges. In order to expedite the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) processes, the Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to change the pool of potential applicants by providing opportunities to small businesses, expediting the proposal to award timelines for small businesses, and removing bureaucratic overhead by consistently implementing process improvement changes in contract execution.
In order to broaden the scope of innovations it funded, the DAF launched the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018. On February 8, 2024, Nozomi Networks began developing and supplying cutting-edge capabilities that will bolster the US military’s capacity for national defence.
Edgard Capdevielle, CEO of Nozomi Networks, said, “It’s an honour to be chosen to join the US Air Force in their mission to ensure our military is equipped with the strongest possible cyber defences. In the upcoming months, we will collaborate with the Air Force Research Laboratory to create AI-driven solutions that will provide precise asset visibility for OT and IoT, precise threat detection, and data analysis that are essential for reducing cyber risk and optimizing resilience.” “The author’s opinions do not always represent the official policy or stance of the Department of Defence, the Department of the Air Force, or the United States government.”
