Paris, May 17, 2021 — TESAT, a German satellite communication product manufacturing company, today announced that the company is selected by Space Development Agency (SDA), Recognized as the U.S. Department of Defense’s constructive disruptor for space acquisition, to supply additional Optical Inter-Satellite Links (OISLs), as part of the tracking layer Tranche 0 program led by the SDA. This program is directly related with the recently announced transport layer tranche 0 program by SDA, for which TESAT also supplies Constellation Laser Communication Terminals (ConLCTs).
TESAT has a proven successful experience of more than ten years in providing high-quality optical communication payloads. The company has successfully executed over 51,000 OISLs.
The SDA’s Tranche 0 constellation consisting of 20 space vehicles and is expected to have a limited networked capability. TESAT’s additional supply of OISLs will ensure further enhancement in the Tranche 0 program.
